The Dog Needs to Poo
Despite waking up early this morning, we found ourselves rushing out of the house latet this morning. Zoe had taken the dog out to the grass this morning but informed me in the elevator on our way downstairs that Buffy hadn't 'completed all her tasks' , hadn't fully 'done her business', ect. "well, crap" I exclaimed unintentionally...Zoe chuckled at me, the irony not being lost on her. Despite being only 11 years old, she has a great sense of humor and even though she's not allowed to swear herself, she does understand the funny nuances of the english language...so Zoe's heads into the gated parking area to the car and I decide to quickly walk Buffy around the gated parking lot. Halfway around, Zoe yells at me through the wroght iron gate, "Ma-ooooM! Commmon- WE"RE GOING TO BEEEE LATE!" I automatically match her tone and volume, yelling back to her "The DOG NEEDS TO POO!!!!!".....I turn around to continue walking ahead and notice a group of construction workers about 15 feet away working on a streetlight or something...they are all looking at me. some are crouched down, some are facing sideways and they are all in the middle of some important task that requires 3 strong men to hold onto the same pole, but they all have thier heads turned at me. me and my 7:55am look- black sweats, black west valley wildcats middle school sweatshirt (sporting my daughter school pride), purple Uggs, bed head unbrushed hair, no makeup and a fancy black and white leather bowler tote purse...and a 10llbs shih tzu that is most often described as "oooohhhhh, how cute!" or "super cute".. i guess my screaming about poop got their attention. my rushed-coming back home to get ready for work morning look is not really my best look..it's not my 'look at me, look at me' moment...it's more of a...if I'm in the car, i am invisible kind of thing. anyway, it was pretty funny. i told zoe about it on the way to school and she laughed and laughed at me. When you are 11 years old, it is super cool to see your parents in embarrassing situations. i wasn't actually embarrassed..but i get more laughs from my girl if I pretend to be during the telling of the story.
